Sorry for the down time. We had some issues, but it should be fine now.

I wish this would happen sometimes to my superheros. ;)
So the Device worked, but he killed the Villain.
Well the overwhelming odds have to catch up with you sometime.
Haha! Have to say this would be far too common in a superhero world.
I think the grave stone is meant to be for the bloke using the u tested device
@Adren & shazz_smifff,
Yes, that is exactly the joke. The untested prototype failed disasterously. That’s why this strip is titled “Consequences”.
Bit of a Downer.
All we know about this guy is that he has a Daughter. Hes probably not even Married.
So it could be the Grave of the Villain, a loving Husband, Father and abducter.
Though the Hero is probably in Prison for killing a Man and using an illegal rocket-device in the middle of a City.
You know it’s a proper hero’s death if it exploded mid-air. If it simply failed and crashed… well, anyone could have done that.
OOOO! Even I know better than to battle test new powers and weapons while actually IN BATTLE!!!
I had a Champions character named Rocketking. Trust me, he developed the invulerability before he went to work on the rockets.
How do we know he was killed by the jetpack? What if he died a hero’s death in a super epic mid-air battle against the villain? Well, it doesn’t matter, he’s in a super hero comic other than Watchmen and his name’s not Ben Parker, so we all know he’ll just come back to life within a year anyway.
And thus, driven to madness by the death of her father at the hands of the “evil” scientist, the Rocketeeress was born!
However, when your only power is a heavy jet pack that runs out of fuel after 15 seconds, your hero options are kind of limited.
It’s the origin of Jet Corpse!
People are actually debating on who is buried in the grave? It’s not ambiguous, it’s the punchline!
I am baffled by the people who JUST DON”T GET the joke! The villain isn’t buried there; the bad guy isn’t even NAMED, let alone shown. The “battle” isn’t shown or mentioned either; we can assume it didn’t happen because the artist gave us no indication that it did happen.
Is that scientist Matthew McConaughey?
Aww, I do not like these feels! Take them back! :(
Is this an homage to “The Other Guys”?
