Brains can be weird some times. Mine somehow made me miss until now that Laser Pony has a saddle in his costume. I had to check older comics to make sure it wasn’t a new “feature” of his outfit o.O
That’s hilarious now that I read that anonymous comment.
Loking at the big streak of sunlight in each panel, you can see that he starts around noon, and the panel ends in the evening.
Apparently, he’s not among the blind people who can (even subconsiously) identify the time of day. Guess he usually has Good Girl for that.
For some of the rest, Mystyr Nile has the explanation. Sunlight coming in at a high angle – noon. Third panel the angle is about sundown.
Of course living in a house with Keith that still makes him an early riser.
I’m with Astroturtle, i thought it was meant to be poking fun at how sad his life is? I feel like if it was meant to be sundown the artist would have made it a little more obvious with the colour of the lighting or something…
Agree with billy dude and astroturtle, if the last frame is at sundown then why is his coffee still shown as warm if he made it first thing in the morning?
That’s the thing. he didn’t make it first thing in the morning. The artist did make the angle of the sun fairly obvious instead of just giving indoor lighting.
Buckaress has been shown at least once, sitting on the saddle, aiming his laser blast using the handlebars on his helmet.
I had assumed the robe-under-the-saddle thing was just one of those conventions of comic art style – if the robe was over the saddle he would look like Quasimodo
Not buying the argument ouro, other then your claim is an assumption till said artist reveals purpose of it but I see nothing obvious that its sunlight, I see the tone background and that LP is in two different locations (coffee machine and chair) so the angle of lighting isn’t going to be the same.
way to over think things good people, the strip is titled – Reflecting beverage. p,s people on night shift start their day as others go to bed so time is irrelevant, as LP may be feeling himself to be.
Genius! Although I’m not sure everyone will get it. ;P
LP…you’re blind…
Oh… my god. I love it. Took me a few seconds, but I LOVE IT.

I Don’t get it.
If you look at the lightning, the sun is actually going down.
I also don’t get it :|

i want to know how he gets the robe on over the saddle.
@Roborat, that’s what I’ve been thinking too.

I thought the joke was that his day lacked anything that could remotely be described as a wonderful prospect.

I don’t see it. It just looks like a random two tone background like people do. Not remotely obvious that it’s sunlight.

I didn’t get it either, but to be totally honest, I haven’t finished my first cup of coffee yet. ;)

It would have been easier to notice if he made a fourth panel identical except for the coffee not hot and the sun down further.

I’m sad now because I had to read the comments to see it.
Now I’m sad because I looked at it 3 times and didn’t get it until I read the comments.
