I believe the moral of the story is if you have super sharp metal bone claws that can through anything and your falling and are continuously gaining momentum and there just so happen to be a cliff, that cliff will not stop your fall because of physics.
Though I have to ask what the hell does he care about falling? His bones are unbreakable and his organs will regenerate. It’d be faster just to take the fall and walk it off.
@AstroTurtle: He still feels pain and tries to avoid it just like anyone else. While his healing power happens to go great with his claws, he doesn’t have a painkiller-power.
Durn. I was almost hoping for a warner brothers type scene. Claws extended, prepared to dig into the wall. Faceplants an inch into the wall with claws still extended
Apparently Hugh Jackman wanted to draw on a different part of his acting experience for the new Wolverine movie, but the director had a different vision for the film and it was cut…
why would you want the cliff to stop your fall, then you would be stuck on the side of the cliff, if anything it looks like he got it just right, he is now sliding down the cliff at what is most likely a much slower speed than falling from the sky, plus he just has to twist his wrists to slow down more or stop, you only slide down when the sharp part points down.
The stone may be a particularly soft kind, like chalk, that would crumble if he tried the sideways twist technique. I do not think it would work on any substance less then half the hardness of diamond.
That dude is such a fucking noob. Not even Daken would fail a standard cliffjump clawgrab like that. Also, his nipples are too big. It’s gross.

I forgot to add cut/slice

This could have been avoided had he only remembered to turn his claws sideways – the cutting edge facing downwards is the primary issue here.

A slight wrist twist would’ve saved him the embarrassment. Either that or quit trying to be badass.

But I felt it was good and had to share it

for this, he should change his name for…
the cat!
Gravity, you won this time!

And that, ladies and gentlemen, as gravity.
