“So, will you be ‘accidentally’ revealing your secret identity on this show?”
“Uhh… I already did. Just before the first ad break!”
“oh”
“and the second ad break!”
“Oh”
“and the third ad break!”
“Oh!”
“You know what, I might as well just swing around without my mask on for all the good it does!”
@Bobcat During Civil War, Spiderman reveals his secret identity on live TV. In One More Day, probably the most infamous Spiderman comic, Peter Parker does a deal with the devil to save Aunt May’s life (she was shot by someone going after him), and as a side affect no one remembers his secret identity, he never got married and the girl he and Mary Jane would have had is no longer to be.
He didn’t make the deal, MJ sealed the deal, they had Peter be wishy washy on the whole ordeal. It was a stupid story, in that Peter nor MJ would have ever really made that deal. :p Though I’d argue Spidey never would’ve given up his identity on TV in the first place.
It’s a joke on the idea of “origin stories” considering that how many origins can somebody have? How many times can you unmask somebody for the first time and still have it mean anything? Even in the first three Spider-Man movies that they did in the 2000s… at one point Spider-Man was unmasked for an entire subway car, and we’re supposed to believe that nobody snapped a cell phone picture of him and plastered it all over the world? :-p
@Pinkk No, Spider-man made the deal in spite of everyone up to and including God telling him to let his aunt peacefully pass away, but since Quesada was annoyed at fans not seeing how ‘great’ the story was tried to retcon it as having actually been MJ (since he hated Spider-man being married since he’s a bitter divorcee himself) trying to shift the hate onto her for his ‘awesome’ story.
why do people say Peter revealed his secret identity on the cover of Amazing Adult Fantasy #15? Is this a reference to Spider-Man’s first appearance in 1961?
What’s his secret identity again? Bob Jenkins? Lenny Smith? John Carter?
Ah well, it’s definitely something boring and forgettable…
Wait. What? Who?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Qy4EIvvVj4 “I have no idea who this is…”
I’m pretty sure that was what he sold his marriage to the devil for – his secret identity to be secret again. Oh, and his Aunt’s life.
Just another day in your friendly neighbor’s life.

How can someone with 6 arms stays incognito? :P
Drake, in another webcomic, Spinnerette hides her extra arms inside of a fake stomach. Perhaps Arachno-Dude does something similar?
Damn, I don’t follow Spiderman – can anybody tell me what the reference is?

Coolest of all. Obviously he also has Dude-superpower.
Another lovely homage to Spiderman. You even gave the man the Green Goblin’s facial expression. Well done!
