@rune: the punchline is that there’s actually A BUNCH of supervillains EXACTLY such copy quickie/xerox of a previous hero, with Reverse Flash/Dr. Zoom being possibly the most notorious (beside Bizarro).
It’s NOT a color change, you colossal douchebag! It’s a PALETTE SWAP! I am your OPPOSITE, nimrod! They don’t call you “The Quickie” for your mental smarts, do they?
More villains need to get indignant about the allegation they’re just cheap knockoffs.
Furthermore, Reverse Flash’s powers are a little different. They tap into the same “non Einsteinian” energy source, but somewhat uses it differently, such as by twisting space-time instead simply moving from point A-B in a nanosecond. *ahem* …excuse to resurrect a character who died when I was in preschool, just for that corny purpose. I haven’t followed DC since. I like to pretend that “Brightest Day” was the franchise’s grand finale.
Yes, and I am sick of it. They rebooted only twice while I grew up, Crisis on infinite Earths in ’87, then Zero Hour ten years later, yet there have been FIVE since ’97. That’s pathetic, and I wish they could just, finally MOVE ON with a few characters, either leaving them dead or retired, once and for all. It seemed they finally were doing that with Blackest Night, but, who really knows? I’m done.
I don’t think I see a punchline. Or get one, if it’s there.
Oh it’s there. You just need to be familiar with the Flash TV show to get it.
“Quickie” = Flash
Not anymore “Copy Quickie” = Anti Flash
They’re usually referred to as “Reverse Flash” rather than “Anti Flash”
Back Flash?
Flash Back?
Shalf?

Oh I am fully aware of all that, I’m an old-school comics nerd from super way way back. I just failed to see how that fact relates to this comic.
The only thing I see is that the villain decided to change his name in the last panel because the hero pointed out how terrible the name sounded?
Nice.
Made me remember Kick-Ass 2.
I will call myself…
/Ass Kicker/…
ah yes,the reverse flash in a nutshell….

Especially when they actually are.
So you should call yourself Eikciuq!

I don’t see any problems with DC Comics. You know they rebooted a LOT since Brightest Day, Blackest Night, right?
