Well, with proper milatary support and training, an whole brigade would be verry powerfull.
Or, at least, someone will get back to working on LP’s eyes not being vaporized by his ability.
Cool solution would be to follow up the sacrifice of their eyes with Zatoichi-style training, and being magnitudes smarter and more able then LP, most could do it.
Boring but practical solution would be to have only one implant in one eye while leaving the other eye normal. Aim with good eye, blast with laser eye.
It’s not an implant, it’s some kind of super serum that give them the ability to create laser beams from behind their eyes. So boring but practical actually can’t be done… unless you can train trem to only fire one eye.
Another solution would be to give them cybernetic eyes, but not place them in their eye socket, that way they could see, fire laser and not destroy their mean of seeing every shoot.
But that’s not gonna happen, because has someone has said while suggesting using people who are already blind… This is Shitropolis.
If they could create an implant and wire it into the brain that would allow them to see the easiest solution would be to mount it someplace other then the eyesocket. that way they could shoot lasers and see. the sides of the head next to the eyesocket would be pretty good.
Or do what the other dimension LPs do and have a spotter…
I figured the “Other dimension” LPs were exactly the Zatoichi types that I was suggesting the army use to train their soldiers. Further more, why not use soldiers who are already blind and have nothing to lose? The latest “Non-24 disorder” commercial features a vet who lost his sight in battle, but appears to be otherwise fit. There must be more then a few like that they can scrounge up. Or any fit blind person could do, especially those people who have mastered echolocation, (without even having bat or dolphin DNA spliced into them).
Speaking of Non-24, LP’s own sleep problems, when combined with his stupidity, could be fodder for hilarious scenarios.
Or hidden sensor patches that act as eyes.
Noticed that the President seems to be Lex Luthor.
Nope, Putin. :D
Does seem to have a kryptonite ring on his pimp hand…
could also be the cook from http://superredundant.com/?comic=271-drama
both seem to lack hair and use a shiny green ring.
My first thought was Professor X, but then I immediately realized Luthor made more sense. Though President X would be awesome.
Why don’t they use people who were already blind?
Oh, yeah. Shitropolis. Right.
Well that and they are using military personal as test subjects. The military doesn’t allow blind people to enlist.
It would be hilarious if none of their super-soldiers were actually allowed to serve because of that technicality.
And now have to deal with the VA…
I’d not be surprised if exceptionally good eyesight was an actual requirement for *this* program.
I was a thinking the same. I am sure they could get around recruitment restrictions. Want to bet special Ops uses some blind but specially trained operatives for certain missions? All about making the enemy underestimate them.
I completely forgot about the itchy-ass side-effect. All in all, it looks like it got worse.
Check the side-effects in the original comic.
BTW are these the only strips where the smiling mad scientist has appeared?
I had to check this strip to understand that the soldier in the background was not calling a friend, but actually looking for someone to guide him:
I had to look up the specifics on wikipedia, but as I understood it “Marco Polo” is a childrens game.
Basically tag, in swimming pool, whoever is “it” has to close thier eyes, but all others must answer thier “Marco?” calls with “Polo”.
There are people who don’t know the Marco-Polo game?!?
Is this the beginning of a story for Lazer Pony? Will he become a mentor figure for these poor souls? Eh probably not, Shitropolis can’t deal with three more LPs running around!
You seriously think they will stop at three? This… is… Shitropoliiis!
Why aint they installin these lasers someplace else than behind them Eyes?
they aren’t installing any lasers, it’s some kind of super serum or treatment that give them laser beam from behind their eyes, n cybernetics involved.
If you can make laser fire from eyeballs then you can make laser guns!
…and if it’s a serum, it’s gonna be a living eyeball laser gun.
I’m guessing they signed some sort of waver for before agreeing to the experiment.
