Nope, Laser Pony is an altered human, not a mutant. No altered humans to mutants, only the other way around, altering previous mutants, as in the case of Wolverine.
At least that’s the case with Marvel, which I’m arbitrarily going with, since it supports my side of the argument. :-P
I thought that you meant that it would give LP mutant powers, since the pollen is a mutagen.
Or did you mean that it was mutant pollen? Mutant pollen is pollen that has mutated. Mutagen pollen is pollen that causes mutations in others. Did you get those wrong or something?
Batman v. Superman. The movie that tried to frame Superman for murder for terrorists using bullets. And murder of Congress with a bomb in a wheelchair. Both incidents were not worthy of Superman to investigate it. And then it gets more stupid.
Does Superman have much of a healing factor? He just tends to not get busted up much in the first place, I thought.
Of course the Hulk’s healing factor is the highest of any hero, right? He doesn’t have any kind of body armor/damage resistance. His body just heals bullet wounds faster than the bullet can pierce his skin, and other less-rapid damage would be healed more easily than that.
At least that’s the explanation I’ve heard. When you have 15 different writers working with a character, over multiple decades, explanations get rewritten multiple times. Who knows what the current explanation is? I like the one I described the most.
I remember that in the “Death of Superman” he got his face cut by Doomsday and that was healing in the next three panels or so. Same happened with the rest of his wounds.
As for Hulk, where he joined the Pantheon, and was the smart hulk (Banner in control of Hulks body) he once was cut in the abdomen by a guy that wielded Admantinium blades, he healed so fast that his hand, that at the moment was holding his entrails from being spread out, got stuck under his skin and muscles.
And in another comic, he was burned badly, having to sustain an evil guy’s attack to stopping him in a pacific way, and he turned from a charcoal-like color to his Emerald color and his regular bulk in a few panels more. But I wonder if Bruce controlled the healing process.
Note: this applies for the smart hulk, but I’m not sure about the other flavors (berserk, dumb and gray, who is the weakest)
Hmm, I’m probably just flat-out wrong about Superman.
The differences between the different versions of the Hulk are probably incidental. I think that Handsome Hulk’s powers are supposed to be identical to the split personality version. In so many comics, the specific manifestation of someone’s powers is subject to narrative convenience, sometimes having the exact opposite nature if the different versions of the power are useful for different plot points.
There is also the size of the censor bar.
Though I am still kind of curious why Keith was the only one we could not see actively looking away from his package (the girls were looking away from LP, and Gyrognome was looking at LP’s head in rage.
I thought she was with him because he treats her well.
He can’t see how pretty she is, so can only know her by her actions.
(A pretty girl can get concerned about people liking ‘her for herself’ vs looks)
I think it was mostly because of a misunderstanding. She took things that LP said the wrong way. He was seriously bitching about stuff, and she thought he was being ironic.
But yeah, LP was a hell of a jerk to Distracterella.
HEY! What are the german words Gesundheit and Pollen are doing in an englisch webcomic? Duden is so going to sue you. Now excuse me. I feel a sort of Wanderlust, put Bratwurst, Sauerkraut and Brezel in my Rucksack and have to go to the Oktoberfest for Schnitzel and Bier.
Pollen is the English word for Pollen. Geshundheit is a common phrase (in the U.S.) to use as a response to someone sneezing (in the UK, it’s usually Bless You).
Also, you failed to note the French word Villain, the Nordic word Thing and the Latin word Me.
I’d say that rape and pillage is a more appropriate metaphor. On the plus side, having so many redundant synonyms of different character (the guttural German mixed with the flowery French and Spanish) makes English fantastic for poetry.
Depends on which werewolf mythos is being drawn from. Some need to see the moon, some need to be touched by moonlight, some merely need the full moon to be there.
he didn’t say werewolf, he just said he got biten by a villian. maybe it was a werepanda (anyone who’s seen the second serries of “those who hunt elves” might get the referance)
Just what we need: A were-thing that shoots lasers. (and I am not only limiting his transformation only to wolf, since I read Peter Is The Wolf, a NSFW comic where we have people that can transform to wolfs, foxes, racoons and bears to mention some)
With LP’s luck, he will turn into a Hug Wolf (Adventure Time)
Actually, lycanthropy might help out a lot. Lycanthropes regenerate. He’d only get one healed vision every X-units (however fast the regeneration would take to heal something that egregious) of time, but that first shot of the battle would be useful for once.
Bella, in the Twilight series, is damned near the be-all, end-all of Mary Sues. She’s an absolutely useless human being whom everyone wants and fights over, for no explicable reason. She’s basically a direct insert of the author herself.
If anything, the Mary Sue in this comic is a little atypical, in that she’s a very useful person. The character of a Mary Sue is generally indicative of the sort of person the author is. Shallow people tend to write similarly shallow Mary Sues, who like Bella in Twilight are loved by everyone around them, despite the lack of any justification for the character being so attractive to the entire cast of the story.
By the way, my condolences, if you know enough about the Twilight series to get all of these references. I know way more about it than I wish I did, from random peripheral exposure. Although, the commentaries about what a fucked up, dangerous presentation of relationships it is, for the tween girls who often read it, can be fairly interesting.
Also, there’s the creepy bit about werewolves grooming their soulmates from childhood, in order to make them the perfect wives. The way that Jacob was latching onto Bella’s unborn daughter is one of the creepiest things I’ve ever seen in a story … and I’ve read a lot of Robert A. Heinlein, who was one really freaking weird dude. The Twilight series includes elements of some of the worst things about Mormonism.
This is what the Mary Sue in this comic is meant to parody, I think. There’s even the reference to clumsiness being her defining flaw, which was mentioned in the bar, when she threw Asstronomus through a wall.
Yeah, and English certainly didn’t mug the Latin language for it. Yup. Anyhoo, the statute of limitations has expired. Yup. And all the witnesses are dead. Yup. Dead. Uh… dead from old age. Yup. Absolutely. Uh-huh. Yuppers. Didn’t steal it at all. Uh… yeah.

Nice touch of mary stu even looking a bit worried (hand gesture as well notied) good twist at the end. (dam pollen season!)
Or is it pollen?
Nah, Dork doesn’t really do character arcs.
… as in nah, it can’t be lycanthropy. It’s just pollen. Dork does a more static comic with one-offs.
Or is is super radioactive mutagen pollen?
Nope, Laser Pony is an altered human, not a mutant. No altered humans to mutants, only the other way around, altering previous mutants, as in the case of Wolverine.
At least that’s the case with Marvel, which I’m arbitrarily going with, since it supports my side of the argument. :-P
I was talking about the pollen.
I thought that you meant that it would give LP mutant powers, since the pollen is a mutagen.
Or did you mean that it was mutant pollen? Mutant pollen is pollen that has mutated. Mutagen pollen is pollen that causes mutations in others. Did you get those wrong or something?
Mutant pollen.
What sort of powers does the pollen have?
We shall see… or not.
It has the superpower to cause minor allergic reactions in people who DON’T have pollen allergies! MUAH-HAHAHA-HAHAHAHA!
Sort of like how my eyes get a little dry and itchy from all of the dust floating around in the air, during the worst of pollen season?
BvS is mutant pollen? Gasp! It’s so clear now.
Hmm? What’s BvS?
Batman v. Superman. The movie that tried to frame Superman for murder for terrorists using bullets. And murder of Congress with a bomb in a wheelchair. Both incidents were not worthy of Superman to investigate it. And then it gets more stupid.
Ah. I didn’t make the jump, based upon just the acronym. I’ve heard lots of horrible things about that movie, yeah.
I’m glad he didn’t shoot lazers there xD
Saying that only makes me worry…
Yeah, that’s where my mind went, with the red eyes kicking in.
How do you know he didn’t shoot lasers from outside the visual spectrum?
Hmm… good point.
Because by the law of comic we got to see invisible lasers.
Marry Seu dos’nt have magical healing powers?
I get the impression that she simply doesn’t generally take as much damage She’s more the superman sort of invulnerable, not the Wolverine/Hulk kind.
And if you meant her being able to heal Laser Pony, no. Her powers are mostly self-contained.
And probably have Superman’s healing factor.

Would Lazer Pony’s teeth even be able to penetrate Mary Sue’s skin?
Maybe that’s his yet-unknown horsebite superpower.
LP must not suck at one thing or she just likes nice but hopeless guys.
I think it is more to do with his modesty
may be he’s hung like a horse or a pony
I think so, due to the expressions from the rest of the LoSRHs when Evil Savant’s team locked them in the closet.
There is also the size of the censor bar.

Well, he rejected Distracterella because BGG told him she was ugly.
I think it was mostly because of a misunderstanding. She took things that LP said the wrong way. He was seriously bitching about stuff, and she thought he was being ironic.
But yeah, LP was a hell of a jerk to Distracterella.
That’s one explosive sneeze! I’ve found Nezalast(tm) works great!
XP
I was afraid he would snease lasers… again.

Yeah, English is full of other languages
English mugs other languages for loose words & grammar
I’d say that rape and pillage is a more appropriate metaphor. On the plus side, having so many redundant synonyms of different character (the guttural German mixed with the flowery French and Spanish) makes English fantastic for poetry.
And Shanghai’s languages it can’t mug.
Redundant adjectives, in particular, although it’s still the case to a lesser degree, with every other part of speech.
So he got infected by werewolf, but due to being blind can’t see the moon so won’t transform?
Depends on which werewolf mythos is being drawn from. Some need to see the moon, some need to be touched by moonlight, some merely need the full moon to be there.
he didn’t say werewolf, he just said he got biten by a villian. maybe it was a werepanda (anyone who’s seen the second serries of “those who hunt elves” might get the referance)
Wait. Laser Pony got bit by a radioactive villain? Yipes!

Or turn into someone really, really, “kill me now” sick.
That would be the most likely case with LP, yes.
Actually, lycanthropy might help out a lot. Lycanthropes regenerate. He’d only get one healed vision every X-units (however fast the regeneration would take to heal something that egregious) of time, but that first shot of the battle would be useful for once.
You really think, he would actually hit a target if only he would have his sight back?
C’mon. It’s LP we’re talking about here.
Hey, he’s quite capable of hitting things. His blimp-count is quite impressive.
I was hoping he would turn into a were-horse
Is Mary Sue German or is it a common US expression?
It’s a common literary trope of US origin, although most people might not have heard the term. There’s a good rundown on it, on TV Tropes:
http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/MarySue
Bella, in the Twilight series, is damned near the be-all, end-all of Mary Sues. She’s an absolutely useless human being whom everyone wants and fights over, for no explicable reason. She’s basically a direct insert of the author herself.

Let me know when you manage to dig yourself back out of TV Tropes, sometime tomorrow evening.
Pollen is the English word for Pollen. See above for a discussion on linguistics.
At least that’s what we tell foreigners …
Yeah, and English certainly didn’t mug the Latin language for it. Yup. Anyhoo, the statute of limitations has expired. Yup. And all the witnesses are dead. Yup. Dead. Uh… dead from old age. Yup. Absolutely. Uh-huh. Yuppers. Didn’t steal it at all. Uh… yeah.
Latin and Greek were mostly mugged by the scientists. I took Latin in high school, which you could consider a study in undertaking, I suppose.
According to English, Latin and Greek had it coming.
According to the British, the whole world had it coming, and they made a pretty good attempt at it in the 1800’s.
