Not Rogue because she drains the powers from a target she doesn’t copy them like Peter Petrelli or for a Marvel-specific example Mimic.
The baby probably already has eye beams (with required secondary powers) along with a bunch of other powers just to reflect Rule of Funny (since Lazer Pony’s a butt monkey character unlike the baby naturally she wouldn’t have eye beams that harmed her unlike him).
Only if she doesn’t copy weaknesses otherwise she’d end up powerless right after copying the powers of the super we see on the subway (or was it bus?) who had a combo-platter of powers but couldn’t use them because they were negated by proximity to space rocks and Earth qualified.
I thought that it is because a required secondary superpower is being immune to your own power, and though it exhibits in different ways they have the same power…
Technically not ‘required’ but honestly almost taken for granted. As an example the human torch parody in Venture Bros. feels the paint from his own body being on fire. Not to mention Wolverine technically isn’t immune to his own bone claws (when he has those). He simply regenerates his skin closed after them, meaning if he didn’t have that power, or had it dampened, he’d be constantly tearing open his hand without it closing.
Plus Shazam (previously DC’s captain Marvel) is technically very much UN-immune to his own superpower as use of the lightning he summons transforms him back and forth. Plus as Laserpony demonstrates, one ISN’T necessarily immune tot heir own power as he renders himself blind repeatedly.
could be that LP’s eyebeams don’t actually do enough damage to hurt baseline humans. i mean it’s not like he’s ever hit anything less flammable than a blimp.
But Mommy Man has the power of the mommy. The ability of a mother to take whatever a baby tries to do to dish-out against them is nearly godlike! Whether it is housewrecking, projectile puking or plain old psyshological torture through sleep deprivation they will take it with a smile and some kind words (atleast while the baby hears it). What is a few lazer blasts compared to changing dipers several times a day, every day, for months…
For fun…science!
Well, since we don’t know what powers do they possess and they being the most effective heroes, it would be like the love child of Superman and Captain Marvel!
We don’t know any details at all, since it isn’t important to the joke. My point is that we have a female baby and a well-known female super-hero with the ability to absorb powers.
It isn’t a theory or even a hypothesis. It’s a good parallel because of the characteristics of the two people involved.
Rogue is also far better known than any of the other characters that have been listed and thus is a far better reference. You don’t draw a comparison to an obscure, 18th-Century, Hungarian linguist to give someone a good reference point for understanding one of the powers of Edward from Twilight.
Except it isn’t a good parallel, since for one her being female isn’t really relevant and as has been noted there’s no evidence Lazer Pony was ever drained and they’d have worn off before they got home anyway. Really your reasoning is flawed all the way through.
Since the infant displays Optic Blasts AND Telekinesis one would think IF she were meant to reflect a character that copied powers she would more closely reflect Mimic who is fairly well known and actually has copied those powers, or someone like Peter Petrelli since again he’s copied (until his nerfing) a variety of powers and retained them all.
There’s no evidence for any of the crap you’re saying, either. We’re working on almost nothing. Talk about flawed reasoning …
#1 Point out a problem with someone else’s suggestion.
#2 Insert the same problem into your own suggestion.
#3 Accuse the first person of having flawed reasoning and bask in your superiority.
There’s nothing flawed in what I said but your reaction certainly demonstrates you can’t handle anyone pointing out the flaws in your reasoning. IF the baby were an expy of someone rather than her powers being a result of Rule of Cool or another comedic trope it wouldn’t be Rogue as it doesn’t demonstrate any characteristics in common with her outside of gender and that is of no real value under the circumstances.
I liked the special shading they used, but as I know, a laser doesn’t emit that kind of lighting, but I don’t want to go into technaci…technila… nerdy talk.
Awww man, the baby is propably also blind now.
Yup, though I bet baby has regen.
Wait…that child is Peter Petrelli?? http://heroeswiki.com/Peter_Petrelli
Not Rogue? The baby is even female.
Not Rogue because she drains the powers from a target she doesn’t copy them like Peter Petrelli or for a Marvel-specific example Mimic.

I believe you mean “Pider Petrelli”
I’m sorry. I’ll leave.
And I never want to see your face here again!!!
…..*note Pider Petrelli for a alibi-name*
And, well, Narf…LP didn’t nearly die…this time, did he? =D
Someone say my name?
Yup.
But… laser pony can’t see… so… what, he felt something on his arm move and defaulted to spider?
It’s more likely that GyroGnome yelled “spider” to watch LP’s reaction.
Awww. The baby seems to have power mimicry, and if true could potentially grow up to become godlike in a city full of super powered beings.
That baby will be their new God.
Only if she doesn’t copy weaknesses otherwise she’d end up powerless right after copying the powers of the super we see on the subway (or was it bus?) who had a combo-platter of powers but couldn’t use them because they were negated by proximity to space rocks and Earth qualified.
The laser bounced off his arm, I think we can assume he has immunity to his own childs powers
Nope, he propably just has a really thick skin.
Being named “Mama-Man” he would definitely need it. I mean with such a unasuming name, your powers must be awesome.
Well, it could be hereditary immunity: Cyclops and Havoc in The X-men couldn’t hurt each other with their powers because they were brothers….
I thought that it is because a required secondary superpower is being immune to your own power, and though it exhibits in different ways they have the same power…

He blows holes in massive targets and vaporized an asteroid.
Plus, modern blimps aren’t flammable. Hydrogen use hasn’t been common since the 1930’s, certainly not in passenger blimps.
Hope it didn’t hit a blimp.
If LP really is the most powerful hero in most universes, you would think that the babies lasers would tear right through Mommy Man.
Baby laser. Full adult laser, particularly LP laser would do quite a bit of damage, I reckon.
Either way thinking that Mama-man is kinda like superman on the toughness scale.
But Mommy Man has the power of the mommy. The ability of a mother to take whatever a baby tries to do to dish-out against them is nearly godlike! Ok, when is he getting that baby near Spank and Banana man??
Errrrrr, to do what, exactly?
For
fun…science!Well, since we don’t know what powers do they possess and they being the most effective heroes, it would be like the love child of Superman and Captain Marvel!
Peter Petrelli, but as a baby. And female.
Like Rogue.
A white Synch
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Synch_(comics)
I think the most pertinent questions are:
Does the baby accumulate powers, or just the most recent acquisition?
Do acquired powers fade over time/usage, or are they permanent?
I’m not too sold on the ‘like Rogue’ theory. LP didn’t seem drained by the experience, unlike most of Rogue’s victims.
We don’t know any details at all, since it isn’t important to the joke. My point is that we have a female baby and a well-known female super-hero with the ability to absorb powers.

That’s not the way that rationality works, man.

You’re ignoring most of what I’ve said elsewhere. *sigh* This is pointless continuing to talking to you about this.
A.M.A.Z.O. might be more appropriate.
http://dcau.wikia.com/wiki/A.M.A.Z.O.
ok. baby is now my favorite character in this comic
Good shading in that last panel.
I liked the special shading they used, but as I know, a laser doesn’t emit that kind of lighting, but I don’t want to go into
technaci…technila… nerdy talk. They probably aren’t lasers. They’re Star Wars blasters.
I disagree. The baby actually hit what she was looking at.
…which indicates that she could never get a job as a storm trooper.
The next combat! Arachno-Dude vs Mamma-man baby! PIDER! XD
The only thing I thought of was “Mama-Man is invulberable, and the baby can LEARN super powers.”
Meh.
A real mom is invencible! And Mama-Man is a super mon! :D
With the mom voice. No wonder why some super lairs are so clean…
She grew up to be the extremely powerful superhero “Baby-Girl”.
The power scaling for this baby will be unreal, gains power by seemingly looking at someone?! Even superman knew when to cap his own crazy op!
