I just discovered this comic yesterday and binged through the entire archives. I love it, especially the characters (all of them). I’ll definitely be keeping up with it from now on!
Now this, you see, is why we have such things as “testing” and “development” and “safety procedures” and the first atom bomb trial wasn’t “two guys running at each other very fast with chunks of plutonium”, amusing as that might have been to watch.
Yeah, but how do you test something that’s supposed to work with a vastly powerful energy source like LP’s energy blast, when you don’t have the thing itself with which to run tests? The atom bomb was easier to test, because we had multiple atom bombs. Besides, I think this was the test.
Also, to quote a bit from Terry Pratchett’s Thief of Time:
“I really must respectfully protest, Your Reverence. We have practiced for just such an emergency as —”
“Yeah, I know all about practicing procedures for emergencies. And there’s always something missing.”
“Ridiculous! We take great pains to —”
“You always leave out the damn emergency!”
See? Should have gone with the helmet with the eye-socket ports.
Nah, it kinda worked. LP’s blast did not wipe out the ship and they are not in a hard vacuum.
True. We have to lower our expectations when dealing with LP. “Not a catastrophic event,” is a victory, relatively speaking.
Realistically speaking*
No, I meant relatively. Relative to what you would consider a victory for other heroes.
Which is the reality of what they hope for.
Err, you’re stretching that one a little too far.
Yup, big misunderstanding. You had it set for eyes and not eye-sockets.
Just point and shoot with your NORMAL eyes
or just grab his handlebars and point his head at the target before firing.
Exactly! That’s the whole point of them!
The alien is aware that he’s blind, right?
Because he has yet to realize he’s talking to The Laser Pony.
Could be an issue of failing to grasp all of the details of the situation, yeah.
Today’s unsafe word is… spider.
Funny, that’s my safe word.
“Teacup.”
“Martha.”
“Cupcakes.”
And now there is nothing like it.
Nah, rewire the force screens and reverse the polarity and it’s done.
Maybe it counts as a blimp? His insurance covers blimps.
Um, guys – you left the lens cap on…
Godammit -Nappa- LP
Hmm guess being able to do a line strike is different then on youtube, oh well.
You have to use HTML tags. Typing <strike>this is the strikeout tag</strike> will result in
this is the strike tag.Of course I had to use some additional codes to get the HTML tags to show up as text, rather than simply applying the tag, but you get the idea.
Well, I left out the “out” from strikeout, the second time, but that should still indicate how you do it.
That’s what you get for ordering your parts from Acme.
But they were the lowest builder.
*bidder
They were the only bidder.
Builder. Yeah… yeah… only one previous ow… I mean new… yeah… new… yeah, saving your planet yeah…
Can hardly blame LP for that. The aliens grossly underestimated the strength of his lasers.
After they vaporized multiple ships …
Methinks they need to adjust their estimates by a few orders of magnitude.
(funny aside: Chrome accepts the spelling of “methinks” without complaint)
The Pony’s Gaze gives and takes away.
So is LP actually strong? i mean, he IS the strongest hero in every other timeline
If only they made the device out of blimps.
Then they’d be covered.
just point him at the enemy and, whilst keeping a firm grip pnbthe handle bars, tell: “there’s a spider! I’ll point you at it! okay it’s gone.”
