Lessee … One wanted to become a god. Another wanted power over life and death. A third wanted to summon Moloch.
By all accounts, Moloch wouldn’t like having competition, so he’d block the Ascendancy ritual. The Power Over Life and Death would go throgh the portal to Moloch, who would be prevented from passing through.
Or something like that.
And how many other cultists and wizards are doing these and other rituals all over the world? They’re probably getting only a twentieth of one percent of the power.
Unfortunately, everyone is using that bandwidth at the same time to look at, collect, download, and enjoy cat stuff so everything is just about the same as before.
This is honestly kind of a let down for me. Like thought be something funnier than just ‘oh, well, just performing our rituals seemed to cancel each other out’. Like I GET the joke of it, as it makes sense when you think about it, and a few people on the previous page probably called it…but this just isn’t as funny for me.
It was a letdown for the characters as well. So if you’re experiencing that, your reaction is about what can be expected. I’m feeling a sense of wry satisfaction here. In all likelihood, had any one of these rituals succeeded, the ancient deity or power summoned would have eaten or destroyed the summoner. That would also explain the lack of success in such rituals as well as explaining why people would continue to try. If there are no survivors to tell why this is a bad idea, naturally others would make the same attempts. Nothing repeats itself so much as stupidity.
Well shit…that happened xD

“So, who won?!! Who’s going to rule Earth?!!”
“I don’t kno-… I think it was… Only the cat photography god made it through.”
“Oh, well. At least, that god will bless people with good internet bandwidth…”

Daylight savings for the win!
The portal is probably clogged by all ancient deities trying to get through…
It is suffering from Mr. Burns Syndrome?
That was abit anti…
…climatic

What did you expect? A quartet of pseudo scientists holding anti ghost weaponry? Guys in trenchcoats and capes holding mystical artifacts?
