So… Really good night vision? I’m not sure I follow what you mean, since sonar is not one of LPs abilities (yes I forgot an apostrophe I’m in a tablet cut me some slack please).
But eagles don’t shoot lasers out of their eyes in our universe. Now, I’m not saying they can’t shoot lasers out of their eyes. I’m just saying they choose not to. They’re very conscientious birds.
On the negative side: He’s a bit stupid, and clearly blind.
On the plus side: He’s working at the Innsmouth Asylum?!
Well, he will at least not go insane from seeing any eldritch horrors.
Innsmouth Asylum? Now where does that sound familiar?
Hmmmm.
Oh yeah, that’s in a sleepy little township just down the coast from Arkham, isn’t it? They’re security guard may be blind, but that’s better than having a bat-winged, tentacled Gatekeeper who has been sleeping for several millenia.
;)
Yeah, I try to avoid putting links in comments until I’ve seen someone else pull it off successfully. You never know what kind of settings a board has. I’ve seen boards that just trash the link, other boards mark it as spam, some will hold the comment until an Admin sees it & approves (or rejects) it. It’s pretty much like attending a pot luck dinner.
Super-Powered security guards sounds like a recipe for disaster, the last person you want to have standing around bored out of their mind coming up with ways to kill time is a living weapon.
Actually no, the worst person would be the person with the powers needed to actually kill time, stuff like that never ends well.
More like “bat-eyed”

Sonar has nothing to do with eyes…
Every breakout will now start with someone shouting “Spider!”… :P
J was pointing out that bats actually see very well. It just didn’t come out well.
And yes, “Spider!” will now be the inmates’ ‘safeword’ when they want out. For a given value of safe, anyway, considering the collateral damage.
It’s true. Bats have remarkably good vision.
Also, there are more species of bat that do not employ a form of sonar than there are that do.
Some stereotypes never die, unfortunately.
Fruit-eating bats tend to have good vision, but insect-eating bats rely far more on echolocation and tend to have poorer vision.
So Flying Fox Man is probably a pretty good security guard, in other words.
To be fair, eagles probably do shoot lasers out of their eyes in this universe.
You’re assuming eagles don’t do that in our universe.

But won’t being hired as a superpowered security guard endanger LP’s secret identity? Horrors!
They probably hired him *as* Lazer Pony.
Very nice swapping Arkham https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arkham for Innsmouth https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Innsmouth .
LP doesn’t look half bad in that uniform. He’s actually standing up straight!

Well, he will at least not go insane from seeing any eldritch horrors.
If only he’d worked at the nearby Dunwich Asylum, then his blindness might not even be a hindrance!
“Where we are going, you don’t need eyes!”, from “Event Horizon”.
And here i was thinking LP would get the flak for not overseeing computer upgrades in case f an offchance global computer virus.
They’ve probably already got heroes like TRON* in their cyberspace to combat the threat of Lawnmower Men.
(*Or maybe like TROFF!)

I spotted that too, but my comment seems to have been canned for including links to the relevant Wikipedia pages :-(
Comment no longer unapproved, thanks for pointing it out. Links generally get caught in the spam filter.

Some sites only object if the address is in a HTML command like HREF. It’s often OK as straight text.
Thanks.
You know, considering how low the bar is set for security at these places, LP probably IS an improvement.

You’d think that prisoners on Death Row would appreciate less “dead-time” before the executions…
