GG and BGG imo, both express the moral dilemma most of us go thru trying to reconcile our angels and demons when presented with an ethical dilemma. Some times it’s morally necessary to do evil when the common good is at stake. It’s normal to have recriminations about performing an act of evil such as taking a life even if it’s in defense of yourself or others. Not feeling guilt will only lead down the path to immoral and antisocial behavior.
The rabbithole of the “moral dilemma” goes further than that for “GGG”, as the halo is enforcing constant “good behavior” upon someone that might be better off without it.
The “Good side” usually is totally unable to reflect on that, but this has given it a possible reason to reflect on it as well.
A) Be a good girl doing only good things because you have a halo…
B ) Doing good things badly like a bad-ass girl because is fun or
C ) Divide yourself in two sides, good good and good bad versions of you and skip all sin, guilty and blame because a high force of the cosmo is responsible and you killed him, and this compensate everything.
D ) Forget everything and yell “SPIDERS” and watch laser pony taking the blame about all mass destruction
I would rate it PG13 for comic book violence and suggestive humor. To get an R rating it would have to show nudity, foul language, and graphic violence, and sexual situations. I like the strip as it stands. I believe the Brits would refer to it as “cheeky”. As much as I would like to see some of the female characters naked I think it would demean the strip and ruin the humor.
I’m not sure you can put an R-Rating on this one. I have yet to see any actual nudity or graphic violence, and other than the name of the city, the cussing is rather minimal.
If you REALLY want to see an R-Rated webcomic, try Odlaf or Ménage à 3.
Just so you know, it is not killing that the Biblical commandment forbids. It is murder. “Kill” is just an inaccurate translation. Bible does permit things like death sentence or armed warfare. Assuming it is Bible from which Good Girl draws her morals from.
What will happen to Not-morally-neutral Girls now that the (alleged) cause of their separation has been killed?
OTOH, I’m a bit disappointed. I half hoped Mr Recurring Scientist would have a look at the Universe-Reboot-O-Meter and say to himself that the reboot was overdue. And then notice that it actually happened…
Well, see, GGG, technically BGG didn’t kill him, according to most theological mythos. All she did was discorporate him, send him back to his `home plane’. Traditionally, only God (by whatever name) Himself is able to fully un-make a soul…which He refuses to do, thus Lucifer being cast from Heaven instead of being un-made.
So, really, BGG didn’t do anything worse than…reclaiming the halo, so to speak. She’s a distinct and separate entity without the halo; what happens to her when the halo is present, hm? What happens to GG when BGG is out and about (usually, not in this arc, of course)? Does GG consider it killing or murder if a priest exorcises a demon?
As for the separation of GGG and BGG…I’m kinda hoping it’s permanent, as the two would play well off each other in terms of comedy. Easy enough to explain…GGG got an upgrade recently, and there’s only so much spiritual room, so to speak…but if souls/spirits can’t truly be destroyed, BGG had to go *somewhere* and this arc was the nearest convenient locus for such shenanigans. I’m assuming, of course, that God doesn’t want to work any harder than He has to.
On the other hand, part of GG’s allure is when BG comes out to play. So re-integration would be cool, too.
Philosophical ponderings and angst-ridden musings…always great to see comics at the grown-up table.

Actually, you come off as a bit creepy, and a little pervy, WITH the halo. Just saying.
Pervy?
How?
Next step, if she figures it out, she’s a servitor…
hmph.
Bad good girl wears underwear.
Who’s really THE BAD GIRL Good Girl?
On Topic:
She is currently “Meh Girl” completely separated into “Good Girl” and “Good Bad Girl”.
Pure distillation of both sides of the coin.
Too bad this strip is R rated,….

You realize that the next scheduled comic release is on Christmas Day? GG is going to explode with holiday fever soon. Will BGG go Krampus?
Please?
Krampus, Black Pete, Rupert, etc.: Names of Santa’s “evil”=not-so-nice counterpart whose task is to punish the naughty ones.
So potentially a succubus form of BGG?

sorry for double-posting.

Wait, she is just now realising that the halo is what makes her Good Girl?
