It’s a world of supers, they have forms for coming back from the dead, shapeshifters stealing your identity, multiple personalities. If it exists, a bureaucrat will create a box for it.
‘Just second, need to fill out this online form, ok it says here please state your intended selected time period and you specific reason for travel, and if you have changed your time period in the last five years…’
Now I understand villains, they really just want to avoid the paper work and get on with things.
Yeah. They have a form for everything. Your toilet turned into a giant, tentacle monster rampaging through downtown at 6pm on a Tuesday? They have a form for that.
Well, yeah, that happens every Tuesday, right on schedule … unless Phil is stuck in rush hour in which case he’ll pop out of your plumbing by 6:10pm.
He’s bad, and that’s good. He’ll never be good and that’s not bad. And he is really dedicated to his work.
There is SOOO much that goes under “other”…
Time/dimensional travel, malfunctioning powers (own/other’s), correctly functioning powers, teleporters…
Do demonic mirrors count as magic, or other (religious)?
What does one choose for pseudoscience? So many entities were born that way…
What if the reason is unknown?
What if you’re an android, does replication fall under cloning or other?
“Other” propably has a field where you can write down what it was.
This sounds like a simple “Magic” case. They got that much inforamtion from Mr. “Totally Not Ettrigan”. And the confession of a Demon Prince (deceased) in front of a hundred or so witnesses.
As for your cases:
Demoic Mirrors: Magic. Unless you really feal like writing it down. Makes statistics harder however
Pseudoscience? Neither cloning, nor magic. So other.
Reason Unknown: Other (Unknown)
Android and Replication: Does that even count as duplication or giving birth?
Curse, usually magic, but check with Appendix 229 Colon 1.
If lycanthropy was in any way involved, please acquire form OMG1GTFO from the origin world of that brand of lycanthropy.
In case of divine forces, please attach statements from representatives of the relevant deities, as well as your own church.
For curses placed by your own church for contacting foreign churches for their statement, please choose “other: trololo”
I feel bad for Spider-man after that Spider-verse thing. All that paperwork…
I wonder if the X-Men designate a person to handle that or if they have a team just for that…
I would imagine that they have a staff attorney, like the Toughs in Schlock Mercenary and Archon in Grrl Power. At the very least they should have one on retainer, like the redhead lawyer chick from Atomic Laundromat (now that I think about it, I could easily see AL and LoSRH existing in a shared universe).
I would assume you’d have to fill out the duplicate form in duplicate, one for each individual, and probably fill those out in duplicate as well, for filing.
She’s certainly competent–they have a form for everything, but when she’s asked, she immediately knows that there are three forms for duplication and what to ask to get the right one. Question: are there forms for triplication or do they all get subsumed under one multiple person disorder form (or set of forms)?
It strikes me that the form’s going to be measured in pounds rather than pages. Either there’s one true Good Girl and a copy, in which case the copy goes out into the world with only what they’ve acquired since coming into existence, or there are two indistinguishable Good Girls who have to find some way to divide up their stuff.
The best part is that GG gets protected, but BGG gets screwed the next time the halo runs out of juice.

‘We need to travel to the past at once, hurry!’

Don’t forget that they’re probably under strict regulations against introducing anachronistic elements in any timestream.
This is a pretty routine procedure at the Shitropolis DMV.
They have an entire department devoted to kaiju collateral damage.

But if it happens on a Wednesday, you’re on your own.
It’s called a Duplicate Form.
B-^
Gotta love how Bad Good Girl’s ponytails are shaped like devil horns!
Yeah I just noticed that too.

This form sucks.
If you think that form sucks don’t worry, there’s a form for that too.

Does a curse count as magic or as evil forces? This form is so unclear!

Actually, all we know is that the being behind the duplication was a demonic entity. We have no information about what the method of duplication was.

Well, at least it’s only the one duplicate. And the one form.
Not like the implied bureaucracy in the conclusion to Algis Budry’s Protective Mimicry!
I would assume you’d have to fill out the duplicate form in duplicate, one for each individual, and probably fill those out in duplicate as well, for filing.
Yeah, true enough.
But IIRC there’s somewhere around 200 duplicates, and the original is waiting to hear if his expense account will honour all 200-odd persons’ needs.
…this lady is officially my favorite secondary likely one-off character ever for how straight-forward she is about this.
She’s like Janine Melnitz, if she worked as a civil servant.

Wonder if Jamie Madrox ever has this problem?

Well, you know, they gotta be thorough. Getting duplicated is a popular tax dodge.
Meh,… I remain a pervert.
Thank you! It’s from MRP.com
You are technically correct. The best kind of correct
