Their own fault for not downloading an offline map app, but given that they haven’t been depicted outside of an urban center before, I can’t blame them, if they didn’t.
Nevermind what I said! I was wrong! Was looking at the wrong era of runes.
It is medieval runes, and it says “heluitesburten”. Which could also be read as “helvetesporten”, which means “the hellgate”
I’m guessing I’m the only one who was trying to get some sort of extra info from the runes on the gate of the stone ring, right? Sadly they are too blurry but my best guess it’s Anglosaxon runes (although I could only decipher some vowels). The cultists again?
Those characters appear to be a mixture of long-branch and short-twig Younger Futhark. Given the blurriness, it’s difficult to tell, but some appear to be inverted or mirrored as well.
Best guess is it says something like “waluitasbartnu” but no idea what that could mean.

Oooooh! Great job, Seidmadr. I was a bit puzzled that such a “nerdy” comic like this one would not have a “nerdy” reference of that kind. Hell’s Gate sounds ominous enough for whatever is to come, thank you very much.
Now however I’m concerned about whether Helvetia (i.e. Switzerland) should be read as “the country of Hell”, doesn’t look like it but…
Surprisingly smart comment for LP. Must be annoying for him, since he can’t use a screen based device.
when the blind dude knows you should check your phone’s gps instead of relying on a (most likely) outdated paper map.
It’s easier to use voice navigation than to get a Braille map. Can LP even read Braille?
Doubtful. He can’t even properly use a seeing eye dog…by which I mean even find one…anybody know what ever happened to him?
And next … they wont have internet.

They HAVE an offline map. It’s the paper thing in their hands. It uses the same coordinates as a GPS.
So, the dumbest guy in the group had a practical idea using common sense? Yep, they’re doomed.
oh no lp is possessed
Uh, didn’t she forget that her gps is on sarcasm mode?!
The blind guy is the only one who can see things clearly
Oh the irony…
WHY IS THERE NO UPVOTE BUTTON?!
Wonder what those runes say?
Nothing, from what I can tell. Several of the runes aren’t real.

You know you’re in trouble when it’s Laser Pony that comes up with the smartest and most logical course of action in a crisis ^^’
I’m waiting for “sarcasm mode” or whatever it was called from their ride here on the bus
And that’s when the phone starts laughing at them as it determines where they are exactly.

no,not the only.

Yeah. Looks like nonsense to me.

It’s ancient Pictish. It says “Home of the Future Forest Starbucks #3751″
Oh. It’s written in colloquialisms. Makes sense, now.
XD
Bad Good Girl needs to stop by and suplex the lot of them.
I’m not sure how that would serve the plot. I just would like to see it.
