If they can dam a rapidly flowing wide river with a few rocks in that short a space of time, they are in the wrong line of work. Even the army corps of engineers don’t work that fast. A lot of water has to flow to run a mill. I’m impressed! Wonder if they’d be interested in contracting out to build a short 3000 mile wall?
Dams in general do not completely stop the flow of water. They can alter how the water continues on downstream – such as redirecting the flow in a new direction – but they can’t do anything about how much water is coming from upstream.
A dam that is just high enough to cross the river would be quickly overrun by the water flow and one built in haste wouldn’t be anything close to watertight. In short, anyone far enough downstream to be out of the forest shouldn’t be too adversely affected.
Don’t worry, little girl, the “makeshift dam” will probably burst soon, sending a *ton* of life-giving water XD
Or yo could, I don’t know, journey upriver to find the problem?
Did you just try using basic logic?!
*TRIGGERED*
Well they were told to not stray from the path.
That’s one heck of a “makeshift dam”.
They must be cursed rocks that water can’t flow across, to make rivers give up or get lost in the woods.
That must be it!
I dunno why they built the dam to cross the river. Buckaress doubles as a floatation device, lately.
You missed the bit about the “cursed waters”, then?
She needs to think about drinking the water – problem solved.
Then they would have to cross a burning river! Not really an improvement!
Ah, dam it…
Dam they made a dam based on a suposition.

You’d think it would be that easy, then when you’re almost finished building, one of your employers seduces your horse.
Poor Loki… (Never thought I would say that!)
