A wizard probably did it! He put them to sleep to aid the big boob cow girl’s quests in hopes of watching them grow more! He also may be responsible for that but who knows.
Welp…making the dungeon super easy and then having the McGuffin around the neck of the giant boss monster a la Dark Heart in Care Bears 2…yep. That’s a troll!
If I’ve learned anything from Breath of the Wild, all you gotta do is walk onto the troll’s hand, then in his sleep he will go scratch his belly and in doing so, gently deposit you next to the treasure.
Well, mightbe they can wake mr Troll and politely ask for the artifact, mightbe he’s happy to give it to the group, because disposing of it in an other way is extremely dangerous.
Ok, here’s the plan. Good Good Girl does a ring toss with her halo onto the Troll King, then Defendress asks him nicely to hand over the box. If giving them the artifact is the RIGHT thing to do, he will. If NOT, then he’ll tell them all what’s what, and they can go from there.
So how do they know the thing around his neck actually is the artifact? For all we know, that could be a family cooking recipe in there. Both of and for the family which is coincidentally missing…
Anybody else notice that both trolls we’ve seen are asleep?
What are the chances that this is entirely coincidental?
If they’re trolls, I wouldn’t be surprised if they normally sleep during the day.

Simple, right?

We don’t. But the team surely has the description: “it’s a tiny box thingy, greyish blue with a golden tiny lock”. Something like that.
More strange is why does Lazer Pony bothers looking when he’s blind…
