Doesn’t have to be in his native tongue. Latin (classical, as taught in schools, not the on-the-streets-one) is one of the most logical languages we know, and not in spite of this, but exactly because of this, someone who has been educated in classical Latin from his very childhood would not unlikely do this.
I remember from my own English lessons, the police (unequivocally an organisation, so a natural singular) being referenced to as “they” in the very next half-sentence. For an educated ancient Roman, this would be one of the typical quirks of the (illogical, in spite of having invented “pure” mathematics) Greeks (which do the same mix-up of numeri on a regular base). So I didn’t conciously notice it before reading the comments.
I didn’t want to be “that guy”, but it was bugging me too! XD
The rest of the scripts have been perfect though. I never thought Mr. Sausage wasn’t a native speaker.
I’m also eager to see our heros to demonstrate that they’re not messing around. Perhaps telling LP that there’s a spider would do the trick =)
LOL
she just cant win,….
Not to be overly pedantic but… the “Why are everyone” in the last panel really hurts my brain…
Probably due to mr. Sausage’s first language not being English, and possibly “everyone” is a plural in his native tongue.
A bit like a Dutch friend of mine will always say the time is “half to seven” rather than “half past six” at 6.30. Cultural differences.

This circular logic is becoming impossibly circular. Are we before the first perfect circle of reality? Mathematicians of the world: investigate!
