Didn’t the Troll king say that the contents of the boxes gave power, ‘but not like you think’? I can’t wait to see what’s on those scraps of paper!
BTW, Mr. Sausage, loving the direction the comic has been taking over the last half year or so. Great work! And thanks a lot for al the hard work you’re putting in it every week!
In Josie’s defense she MAY just not personally like swearing. It’s an entirely valid possibility!
And I sincerely hope the paper is just like the spell that sends them home or is in some way ‘counteracted’. Like ‘One of you randomly has the power to shoot lasers from their eyes’! And LP wins…and so on and so forth all the way to ‘You’re a witch now, woohoo’ and ‘You set things on fire when you think about cooking’.
I HONESTLY just want this mess to be over. I really don’t think I’ve ever WANTED an arc to come to an end so badly but I really do. I REALLY really just want this whole side trip that began with them going on a HIKING trip to be over and we can get back to Shitropolis and our regularly scheduled shenanigans.
Oh lord, it’s not going to say “the real treasure is the friends you made along the way” is it?
Seriously, if I ever hunt a treasure that contains a bullshit message like THAT at the end, I’m learning NECROMANCY so I can raise from the dead the guy who set that up and kill him a second time!!!
Maybe the treasure is some kind of legal paper, like a lease for the elf forest and the Troll mountain. That would bring the owners power since it allows them to live there, but be quite useless for the league.
They really should put the pieces of paper together and read what it says before they judge. It could be an artifact that is enchanted to be pieces of paper until put together. Or what it says could be an amazing clue to gaining amazing amounts of power, or a spell that ends the world, etc. Also they were warned it was probably not what they were expecting.
Looks like Josie is a Hogwarts graduate. The question is which house. I want to to guess Ravenclaw. As for the scraps of paper I suspect the followers of this strip may not like what they contain when assembled. Hope I’m wrong.
Ravenclaws tend to be smarter, though she could possibly be the house dunce that the others try to not talk about around outsiders because she’s embarrassing. I think she’s a better fit for Slytherin, a conniving villainess who also fills the role of her own bumbling idiot lackey.
My vote also goes for Slytherin. She likes green, never wants to assume her fault and always plays the “I’m better than thou” card. Not to mention she hides behind her hubby’s money and power.
Last panel: Alex seems to be forgetting who is in charge in that realm. If Josie says no vulgarity her word is law. Alex is risking time in the castle dungeon or at least a heavy fine.
A map that shows where the actual item of power is? Hmmm, whatever.
Or “fucking whatever”, so Josie is upset.

The most emotionally moving poem in history

First box: Drink
Second box: Your
Third box: Ovaltine!

Yes, it could be some kind of contract… or maybe it’s a script.
Let’s just hope that the papers are not written in explosive runes.

Let me guess, it’s the deed for rightful ownership of all of these lands.

Selfish tendencies and a lust for power? Sounds like Slytherin to me.

“You took the box! Let’s see what’s in the box! Nothing! Absolutely nothing! Stupid! You’re so stupid!”
