GyroGnome is going to headbutt LP in the goolies for this, repeatedly.
And Flying Fox man might have a thing or two to say about the sudden appearance of a construction-crew working on top of “His” commandcenter.
Besides, there’s technically nothing that would enable the league to use this new space, it’s Gyrognomes’ property, and he can just increase rent to accomomdate the increased living space. And the league only got two incomes to cover rent, this is going to bone them so hard.
This isn’t a WinWin for you LP.
I would think, he couldn’t increase their rent for awhile, in as much, they’re already using the cave as part of the living area. What this now does, is say it’s been an unsafe living area.
Then there’s the contract they likely have written up, that likely says rent is such and such amount for so long.
However, it’s that first bit that would at least stop the “Well now you have more living area.” argument, as they were already using it as part of the living area.
He is a gnome and as we all know gnomes live underground (right?) so these are his tunnels.
Also: getting bizarre flashbacks to Aqua Teen Hunger Force where our intrepid band of crime fighters (technically) lived in a house with a giant (vampire) lair under it.
All LP needs to do is persuade the construction guy to convince Gyrognome that the work needs to be done in order to contain a potential outpouring from an ogre nest that’s been found down there.
It was ogres that Gyrognome is afraid of, and that LP saved him from once, wasn’t it?
This is exactly the attitude renters have towards their landlords in the real world. Cost them as much as you can in revenge for having to pay rent. In almost every instance a landlord will pass the cost onto their tenants with rent increases claiming expenses have increased. There’s a number of ways this would go in real life. The landlord claims not be able to raise capital for the repairs, the building commission condemns the structure, the tenants are on the street, and the landlord sells the property to a developer. Or the landlord finances the repairs and once they’re done raises the rent to cover the cost of the repairs, the tenants can’t afford the increase, and are out on the street. Finally, he does the repairs, evicts the tenants for no reason as they are tenants at will or breaks their lease for violating its terms and evicts them making the way available for new tenants at a higher rent. Gyro has ample evidence for evicting them especially for the way they pay their rent and the damage they’ve already caused to the building. There’s really no way this ends well.
Living in Shitropolis in general, and living with LP in particular, is already a lot more absurdly dangerous that just having an unstable cave under your house.
Always wanted that jerk to get his comeuppance. I know it’s just going to end with more groin-punches, but it’s nice to dream for a comic or two.
He’d probably get punched for something anyway, so at least this way he gets something out of it.
LOL
YUP,…. The Gnome is gonna hate this,….

Well, he should keep his pie hole shut since he was the one that helped them.

He just has to make it more livable now.

It’s only win-win until Gyrognome kicks LP in the groin for costing him a lot of money…
It’s win-win until …. GyroGnome raises the rent at the next rent/lease agreement renewal.
TBF, he was probably going to do that anyways.
All LP needs to do is persuade the construction guy to convince Gyrognome that the work needs to be done in order to contain a potential outpouring from an ogre nest that’s been found down there.

say good bye to your crotch again…since the punch he will get you there for THAT!

Sounds like someone is/was a landlord. And doesn’t/didn’t like it much.
Past tense. Never again!
