To be fair that’s not an uncommon thing to include the ‘one’ even when it’s unnecessary. I think in Transformers their main computer was Teletraan-1 despite no evidence of a 2, 3, etc.
Usually the ‘1’ is only appended retrospectively when the ‘2’ is conceived of.
Teletraan-1 is one of those rare examples where it wasn’t originally 1st of a series (although another Teletraan-number was mentioned much later on), nor was it satirical (like the film Loaded Weapon 1).
Maybe it was a triple name? I know people named “Primo” (which is a direct variant of “primus” and, considering ancient Roman naming customs, probably not a too rare name once upon a time).
Maybe that’s why he got murdered? So his name could make sense by appointing a Ioannes Paulus Secundus and stop the nonsense? Hmmm…
I still remember the news:
— The Pope is dead.
— But… that happened weeks ago…
— Again.
— Really?
There’s the time a few years ago (during Scott Synder’s run) where Alfred’s codename was Penny One. This was, I think, before Alfred’s daughter was reintroduced to be Penny Two.
Alfred Pennyworth has been “Penny-1″ on and off for ages. If there’s ever been a Penny-2, it didn’t last. Kinda dumb to use part of his real name, though.
(snicker)
Probably not pronoucable.
On an unrelated front,…. I wonder if the spontaneus combustion on attempts to cook work on people. I mean she imagines putting your hand between two pieces of bread and your hand bursts into flame?
What’s in a name? etc., etc….
Does it really matter at this juncture?
Particularly since she started out as a kinda-enemy. She now, prettymuch, has to rely on the folks she’s harassed in order to get along in their ‘weird’ world. Them not knowing her name might actually be to her advantage in the long run. Someone above pointed out that names have power when it comes to magical critters.
In the last panel, you have ‘supposed toy use’ instead of ‘supposed to use’. I noticed it the day you posted, but was sure you’d have it fixed by now :)
Actually I don’t think they’ve ever fixed a typo. I’m assuming they have a policy against it (it’s not like they’re making much money off this comic after all, can’t afford to put too much time into it)
do we know her real name?
No.
And we don’t care.
I care… a little
Then you are excluded of “we”. Get lost.
(Nah, just kidding).
In the real world, you have to introduce yourself before people know your name, instead of just being able to read it above your head.
I don’t remember the elf ever doing that.
Good Girl advocates the use of codenames, after announcing herself as “Good Girl”.
Technically that is her codename, we’ve never heard her real name either
We heard it once.
That is her real name. Ever since that accident anyways
who the hell would be Tinkerbell 2?

For a real world example of this Pope John Paul I was officially IOANNES PAVLVS Primus.
All the other popes with unique names didn’t use an ordinal. e.g. Francis is FRANCISCVS

Keith
If Keith did anything even remotely heroic, maybe they’d give him a codename.
(Seems to be a reference to Transformers, first gen. At least, that’s where my mind went. Their ship’s computer was Teletraan I.)

Knowing elf names and languages, you’re likely not far off.
It’s probably Karen.
I’m not seeing quite a Karen. Maybe a Janet?
I would be surprised if an elf, which technically is a magickal creature, shares their name since to know something’s true name gives power over it.
Technically?

Wild guessing time – and the ole’ brainsprain is tired:
Tinklebelle? No? Maybe Daisy Cutter? Dinkelspiel? Shutterfly? Polly Vera Chloe – PVC? Nah, “the PVC-fairy” sounds kinda sorta triple-X R-rated. Perhaps “Vain”?
She could be called something like “Troll” just to mess further with our fairy/elf expectations.
Or being a purple-haired nature being, it might be something like Lilac or Hydrangea.

I vote for Tattletale
